A POWER cut in a Borders town has forced a local supermarket to close temporarily.
Scottish Power received reports of a power cut affecting the TD7 area in Selkirk at 10.53am this morning (Monday, October 2).
The energy company expects the power to be reestablished by 7pm, however the Co-op supermarket on the High Street has reportedly closed for the afternoon due to the issue.
A member of staff replied to a comment on the Selkirk Response Team (SRT) Facebook page detailing that the shop will reopen once power is restored.
An update on Scottish Power's website reads: "There is a power cut affecting the TD7 postcode area of Selkirk.
"Restoration is taking longer than expected because of repairs required to our underground cable network on Back Row and our team are now working to get your electricity supply back on as quickly and as safely as possible by 7pm.
"If you require any further help or support, please call us on 105.
