AN INVESTIGATION is ongoing after a woman was punched in the face by a man onboard a train on the Borders Railway line.
The train left Edinburgh Waverley Station around 8.30pm on Saturday September 9 and arrived at Tweedbank around 9.40pm.

Other passengers intervened and the victim left the train at Galashiels, while the man stayed on the train until Tweedbank.
British Transport Police officers are now appealing for the victim or witnesses to the assault to get in touch.

A spokesperson said: “Both the victim and offender boarded the service at Edinburgh Waverley.
“If you witnessed the incident or if it happened to you, please do contact us and our officers will be able to help.

“Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
