DETECTIVES in the Scottish Borders are appealing for information after a car was deliberately set on fire in a Borders town.

Officers responded to the incident on Todburn Way, Clovenfords, around 5.10am this morning, Tuesday October 17 2023.

Detective Constable Liam Myers said: “Thankfully nobody has been injured as a result of this incident.

“Although this happened early this morning, we would appeal to anyone who has any information surrounding the fire to come forward and speak to police.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 0412 of 17 October, 2023.

This is the second wilful fire raising in the region in the past few days.

On Saturday October 14 two barns were set on fire at a farm hear Heriot adjacent to the A7.
