ONE lane of the northbound A1 dual carriageway near Innerwick has been temporarily closed after inspectors from Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland identified an area of failing concrete.
The area has previously been patched but now requires more extensive repairs. The works are being scheduled as soon as practical, however the lane closure is expected to remain in place for approximately one month.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “This area of concrete on the A1 has deteriorated to the point where it needs more extensive reconstruction than can be carried out at short notice.
“We don’t expect the lane closure to cause significant delays at this location, however we are mobilising resources to get these repairs completed as soon as possible.
