A BORDERS road will be closed for three days next week to facilitate patching works.

The A6089 road at Newton Don to Courthill in Kelso will be closed between 8.30am and 5pm on Monday October 30, Tuesday October 31 and Wednesday November 1 2023.

The alternative route is via the A6089, A698, B6352, A699, A68, A6105 and A6089 to the point of closure.

The closure was announced by Scottish Borders Council who said: “Where we're required to carry out planned maintenance on the road and bridge network, there may not always be enough space to allow a safe working area as well as allow vehicles through the works.

"Where this is the case a road closure is the only appropriate solution to address both traffic and pedestrian management.
