A GALASHIELS teenager who assaulted a police officer in the custody area at Hawick Police Station has been ordered to carry out 50 hours of unpaid work at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Nineteen-year-old Nathan Yule, of Kenilworth Avenue, pleaded guilty to lunging towards the officer and behaving in an aggressive manner and causing spittle to land on the constable's face on January 15.
Not guilty pleas to three charges of assault in Sime Place, Galashiels, on the same date were accepted by the Crown.
