COMMUNITIES around Melrose came together on Sunday to honour those who gave their lives in conflict and those still in active service.
Led by Melrose Pipe Band, the procession marched from the town square to the war memorial where Reverend Rosemary Frew led the service.
Members of the local authority, community groups, the Duke of Buccleuch and Melrosian Will Owen and Melrose Festival Queen Olivia Milne, laid wreaths at the memorial.
From the War Memorial the gathering was invited to join in worship at Melrose Parish Church.
Later on youngsters went on a 'Remembrance Ramble' with the parish church's Messy Church group.
Children got to hear stories, sing songs, and make their own poppy wreaths which some added to the war memorial.
