ROAD Policing Officers from Galashiels, officers from the Scottish Borders Community Action Team and traffic examiners from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) conducted a joint operation last Friday November 17.
The operation took place on the A68 just north of Earlston.

69 vehicles were stopped during the course of the day.
Seven prohibitions were identified. This means that the drivers were not permitted to continue their journey for a variety of reasons.

Three vehicle defect rectification tickets were issued. This means that the drivers have a set period to repair the necessary faults to avoid prosecution.
Warnings were given to 18 drivers for miscellaneous offences.

One person was also given a warning for possession of drugs.
