Detectives are appealing for information after two homes were broken into in Galashiels and St Boswells.

Both break-ins occurred on Sunday, November 5, 2023.

Around 6.30pm, a home in Abbotsford Road, Galashiels was broken into.

Those responsible stole several items of jewellery, including a distinctive necklace.

Border Telegraph:

A white Seat Leon or Hyndai i20 car was seen leaving Abbotsford Road between 6.45 and 7pm.

Between 3pm and 9pm, a home in Jenny Moores Road, St Boswells was broken into, again items of jewellery were stolen from the house.

 

Officers are checking CCTV footage from both the locations for any additional information on whoever is responsible for the housebreakings.

Detective Constable Claire White said: “The jewellery stolen has great sentimental value to the owners and they are shocked and distressed at losing their items.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have information about these crimes to get in touch, even if you think what you know isn’t important, let us make that decision.

“ I would also ask anyone with dash cams or recording equipment to check their footage in case there are images which could assist us in identifying whoever is responsible.”
