BLACK Friday, one of the biggest days in the shopping calendar is fast approaching and police in the Scottish Borders are warning the public about the potential to be taken in by scammers.
Officers say that legitimate parcel delivery services will not contact you unexpectedly to ask for personal or payment details whether it be a text, email or phone-call.

Also if you receive an unexpected message about a parcel delivery, don't click on any links or follow any instructions to download an app to your phone.
In addition if you are expecting a parcel, track the delivery on the company’s official website or app rather than using links or contact details provided in an unexpected message.

If you think you may have made a payment to a scammer or if you are worried that a fraudulent transaction has been made from your account you should contact your bank immediately
