A 36-year-old man was taken to hospital in Edinburgh last night after being struck by a van in Peebles.
Emergency services were called to Edinburgh Road in the town around 7.10pm.

The road was closed for one hour and officers say that their enquiries are ongoing into the incident.
The man's condition has not been released.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.10pm on Tuesday, 5 December, 2023, police were called to a report of a male pedestrian having been struck by a van on Edinburgh Road in Peebles.
“Emergency services attended and the 36-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 19.03 on 5 December 2023 to attend an incident on Edinburgh Road, Peebles.
"An ambulance and a critical care paramedic were dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.”
