DODDIE Aid is back and South of Scotland team captain Kelly Brown is urging Borderers to sign up.

The virtual mass-participation exercise event founded by former Scotland captain, Rob Wainwright will run for 5 weeks from January 1 2024.

It all comes to a close with a celebration around the Doddie Weir Cup - between Wales and Scotland at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

The last three years have been incredible and the Doddie community of almost 80,000 participants have covered over 8 million miles and raised over £4 million for MND research in the process.

The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation has able to commit more than £11m to vital MND research: funding 40 pioneering research projects to help find effective treatments and one day, a cure for motor neuron disease.

One year on from Doddie’s death, the desire to reach his goal of a world free of MND is stronger than ever.

Borderer Brown said: “I was absolutely delighted to be asked to be captain of the South of Scotland in this year’s Doddie Aid.

“Doddie Aid is back and it’s a fantastic way to start the year to get active and raise funds for the My name’5 Doddie Foundation.

“This January thousands of people are going to sign up.

“So I would encourage you to sign up, get involved and get active.

“And I would encourage you to raise as much money as you can for the fight against MND.

“Doddie Aid is back so come on Team South.”
