A PEEBLES man will be sentenced next month after admitting robbing a 75-year-old woman of her handbag.
Colin Boyle targeted the pensioner near his home in the town's Cuddyside at around 2.15pm on April 25, 2022.
He seized the strap of her bag – causing it to break – and as she fell to the ground he escaped with the handbag and its contents.
The 57-year-old initially denied the offence following his arrest but pleaded guilty to an amended charge last month.
He was due to be sentenced at Selkirk Sheriff Court but a background report was unavailable.
Boyle also claimed to be having mobility issues after spending time in hospital.
Sentence has been further deferred until February 8.
