A FRESH warning of snow and ice has been issued for the Borders.
The Met Office sent out an alert over the weekend covering the entirety of Tuesday.
Now a new warning has been issued for Wednesday up until midday.
The forecaster's alert is for snow and ice in the east and south of the Borders, and just the latter in the north and west.
A Met Office spokesperson said a mixture of sleet, snow and ice could cause travel disruption.
The spokesperson added: "A band of sleet and snow is likely to continue to push across this area and towards the southeast during the first part of Wednesday. This could bring 1-2cm of snow over the hills in the region, with a small chance of around 5cm falling in one or two upland areas.
"At lower elevations sleet or very wet snow is likely, but no settling of snow is expected. As this band of sleet and snow clears to the southeast, temperatures will fall below freezing leading to widespread ice developing.
"Snowy, wintry weather can cause delays and make driving conditions dangerous, so to keep yourself and others safe; plan your route, checking for delays and road closures, amending your travel plans if necessary: If driving, leave more time to prepare and check your car before setting off; Make sure you have essentials packed in your car in the event of any delays (e.g. warm clothing, food, water, a blanket, a torch, ice scraper/de icer, a warning triangle, high visibility vest and an in-car phone charger).
"Be prepared for weather warnings to change quickly: when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area."
