AN AREA of the Borders looks set to be hit by 'heavy' rain as another storm arrives.
The conditions – associated with Storm Jocelyn – could lead to flooding and travel disruption, according to the Met Office.
The yellow alert comes into effect at 7am on Tuesday (January 23) in the west of the Borders around Hawick, lasting until 6pm.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Outbreaks of heavy rain during Tuesday, associated with Storm Jocelyn, will see accumulations widely of 15 to 20mm with 40mm over high ground of southwest Scotland as well as the west Highlands.
"The heavier persistent rain will give way to blustery showers by evening."
There is already a wind warning in place for the entirety of the Borders on Tuesday, kicking in at 4pm and lasting until midday on Wednesday.
Storm Jocelyn closely follows Storm Isha which caused problems across the region.
Flooding and fallen trees led to road closures, while all Borders Railway services on Monday were cancelled.
