BIGGAR Cornets Club has announced who has been selected as this year's Cornet Elect.
The club revealed that Colin Yuille will take on the role for 2024.
After growing up in Biggar, Colin moved to Glasgow for several years while he served with the RAF Medical Reserves for five years.
In 2012 he joined the Scottish Ambulance Service and 10 years later he returned home to Biggar with his partner Hannah and twins Logan and Daisy.
Colin now works as a paramedic at the Biggar Ambulance Station.
On his appointment, Colin said: “I was really surprised when asked to be Cornet Elect for 2024.
"I see it as a huge honour to be given the opportunity to represent the town.
"I’m looking forward to learning the ropes and beginning my duties.”
Colin will support Biggar Cornet 2024 Craig McDonald and Right Hand Man Euan Sanderson – who was 2023 Cornet – during this summer's festivities in Biggar and in Peeblesshire.
Earlier this month Biggar Gala Week also announced that Evie Russell would be Fleming Queen Elect 2024, and that in the summer she will be crowned by Crowning Lady Jan Telfer.
A Biggar Cornets Club spokesperson said: "The Club would like to congratulate Colin on his new role and wish him and his family all the best for the years ahead.
"Let The Deed Shaw."
