A BORDERS nursery school has been rated a class act by the Care Inspectorate.
East Green Nursery and Out of School Club is based at the RBS Buildings in High Street, Earlston.
It is registered to provide a care service to a maximum of 24 children from age two up to S1 entry at any one time.
A representative of the Care Inspectorate paid an unannounced visit to the nursery on January 30.
It was concluded that children experienced nurturing and caring interactions from staff and that children “made progress in literacy and emotional well-being through creative and engaging play experiences”.
Staff also engaged in regular self-evaluation for improvement to ensure they continued to provide high quality learning.
The nursery was rated ‘very good’ for care, play and learning and for its staff team and ‘good’ for its setting and leadership
