A LEISURE centre in the Borders is set to close for more than three weeks to allow “remedial electrical works” to take place.
Operators Live Borders said it was a legal requirement involving “extensive inspection of wiring” at Teviotdale Leisure Centre.
The hub will close from Monday, March 4, to Thursday, March 28.
A Live Borders spokesperson said: “All membership payments will be frozen for Teviotdale Leisure Centre over the closure period, all members will still be able to access all our swimming pools, gyms or fitness classes at any of our other locations.
“We are in the process of contacting all our members, clubs and learn-to-swim children, and will make alternative arrangements for as many groups as possible for them at Selkirk Leisure Centre. We welcome all users to our other facilities over this period.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
Meanwhile, Live Borders has announced temporary reduced hours at other sites for electrical works.
The Gytes Leisure Centre will be closed until 4pm from Monday, February 19, to Friday, February 23.
Kelso Swimming Pool will not open until 3.30pm each day from Monday, March 4, to Friday, March 8.
The gym and changing rooms at Tweedbank Sports Centre will open at 4pm from Tuesday, March 12, to Thursday, March 14.
The 2G pitch and running track will be open as normal, according to Live Borders.
