AN EDINBURGH production has shared a "magnificent" centrepiece with a Peeblesshire crew putting on the same show.
Tweed Theatre's production team – director Sam French and producers Ros and Paul Taylor – for this summer's production of Brassed Off recently met with Jac Wheble at the Eastgate Theatre.
At this meeting, Jac, who was the director of Edinburgh People's Theatre's own production of Brassed Off last year, loaned the Tweed Theatre team a miners' banner which was a centrepiece of the Edinburgh show.
Sam said: “We are grateful to Jac for the loan of the banner for a show that is generating so much interest, with people already clamouring for tickets.
"The show is unique in the way local brass band musicians are incorporated as an integral part of the play’s performance.”
The meeting also saw the group share experiences which gave the Tweed Theatre representatives plenty of ideas for the show. It has already garnered a lot of support from the local community.
Tweed Theatre's Brassed Off will take to the Eastgate stage on May 9-11.
Tickets and a new programme of events will be available from the Eastgate Theatre in due course.
