THE Big Quiz proved a big success once again – raising a further £3,000 for Prostate Scotland.
More than 200 people attended the popular event in the Volunteer Hall in Galashiels on Friday night, which has been taking place for over a decade in memory of Scotland rugby legend Duncan Paterson.
Organised by Duncan’s daughter Lucy McAneny, the 2024 Big Quiz took the amount raised to over £50,000 for charity Prostate Scotland since the quiz’s inception.
And it was a local team of Robbie Graham, Jamie Bertram, David Blake and Malcolm Howden who came out first, with a total of 54 teams entered.
Lucy said: “There are so many people to thank for helping put on the 2024 Big Quiz, it’s difficult to name them all.
“Big thanks Gordon Keddie and Drew Hannah who were our quiz masters as well as Guy Frater at the Trophy Guy for his long-standing support by donating the winners’ medals.
“My team of friends and family who help year in, year out, and Prostate Scotland for always being in attendance, as well as all those who donated raffle and auction items and Auld Mill who donated the winning team’s prizes.
“Finally, all the people who attended on the night, many of whom are regular attendees at the quiz. It was another fantastic night.”
