THE Met Office has issued a yellow wind warning for the Borders this weekend ahead of Storm Kathleen.
From 8am to 10pm on Saturday, April 6 the Borders will be hit by "very windy weather" thanks to the storm.
Due to the storm there is a chance that road and rail travel will be affected, with the possibility of delays or cancellations of services.
There is also the risk of power cuts and mobile phone services could also be impacted.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "A deep area of low pressure, will bring a spell of very windy weather to parts of western Britain and Northern Ireland this weekend.
"Gusts of 50 mph are expected quite widely on Saturday, while some exposed spots, particularly on the coast, will see 60 to 70 mph gusts with large waves also likely."
According to the Met Office's warning impact matrix, this warning has a very low likelihood and a medium impact.
Areas of the Borders expected to be affected by the yellow warning include: Peebles, Galashiels, Selkirk, Hawick, Jedburgh, Lauder, and Kelso.
The warning does not cover the Borders coast.
