SELKIRK is continuing to build up to a summer of celebrations as the Standard Bearer for 2024 is set to be announced.
Revealing this year's Royal Burgh Standard Bearer, the annual Appointment Night returns at 7pm on Friday, April 26.
With crowds gathering outside Selkirk Town Hall, the Standard Bearer will be carried high by his attendants to cheers and applause.
After being chaired down the High Street, Back Row, Kirk Wynd and then again along the High Street towards the Victoria Halls – led by Selkirk Silver Band – the Standard Bearer and his attendants will enjoy an evening of celebrating, first with the Royal and Ancient Burgh Ex-Standard Bearers Association Appointment Night Concert at 7.30pm.
The Appointment Night Dance will then begin at 10pm in the Victoria Halls.
Selkirk Common Riding will take place on Friday, June 14.
