A BORDERS charity has unveiled its new CEO.
Denise Carmichael has joined Borders Wheels after 15 years at the region’s council.
The community transport charity has offices in Jedburgh, Galashiels, Peebles and Duns.
Berwickshire Wheels also became part of the organisation in April.
Ms Carmichael said: “I am delighted to see the positive impact that we are having on our communities, in allowing people an accessible alternative method of transport.
"I am pleased to see the range of ways we support our clients. From hospital appointments to social outings and regular organised trips with other not-for-profit partner organisations. Borders Wheels plays a vital role in ensuring that individuals have the transportation they need.
“I fully understand the challenges posed by the rurality of the Borders, and I am committed to growing and enhancing our ability to get people to where they need to be."
Chair Mike Rumbles said: “Borders Wheels looks forward to the leadership and vision that Denise will bring to the organisation as it continues its mission of serving the community.”
