A BORDERS College student is celebrating after winning £1,000 worth of work tools.
Teresa Collins, who studies plumbing at the college, was named as one of the winners of the Worshipful Company of Plumbers (WCoP) for 2024.
Teresa, who is a first-year apprentice, working for Border Eco Systems, submitted her application last year.
She was delighted to discover WCoP judges had chosen her as a winner to receive a selection of Monument tools worth £1,000.
Teresa said: "I am delighted to have been announced as one of the WCoP winners.
"I want to thank everyone at Monument Tools for this generous award, which has already been such a great help to me in my job.
"I was extremely overwhelmed at the quantity when they arrived at the college, and I am so grateful to have been chosen.
"With my greatest gratitude, thank you so much."
Teresa is one of six winners and has now been invited to receive her certificate at the annual WCoP lecture at The Royal College of Physicians in London later this month.
Teresa has also been invited to The Installer Show in June at the NEC in Birmingham to join a presentation and photo opportunity.
WCoP is one of the oldest companies in London and actively supports the plumbing craft, and those less fortunate.
The Livery company aims to make a difference within the industry by assisting and supporting charities and trainees.
