PRIORSFORD pupil Lucy Crombie, 12, was announced as this year’s Beltane Queen at a ceremony in Peebles Drill Hall this afternoon.
Moments later after being photographed with her court, watched by her mum Claire, a Priorsford teacher, she spoke to the Peeblesshire News.
Lucy said: “I am looking froward to the whole experience really.
“My mum’s over there crying and I think my whole family will be really proud.”
The traditional procession, led by two pipers, made it way down the High Street to huge cheers of Hurrah! Before ice cream cornets were served on Tweed Green by Caldwell’s Homemade Ice Cream.
