UPDATE: Gary Scott, who was reported missing from Hawick, has been traced safe and well, say police.

CONCERNS are growing for the wellbeing of a missing Borders man.

Gary Scott was last seen in the Burnfoot area of Hawick at around 8am on Thursday (May 23), according to police.

Officers believe the 43-year-old was heading for the Galashiels area.

He is described as being 6ft1 tall, well built with short brown hair. 

He was wearing black jogging trousers, black trainers and a black adidas top with white stripes down the sleeves. He walks with a limp.

Inspector David Robertson said: “Along with Gary’s family and friends, we are growing increasingly concerned for his wellbeing and are appealing for anyone who may have seen him to please come forward.

“If you can assist our efforts to trace him, please call police on 101, quoting incident 3545 of 23rd May 2024.”
