THE bad weather continues this week as the Borders is hit with a yellow warning for rain.
Following two yellow thunderstorm warnings this week, the Met Office has issued the Borders with a further rain warning tonight (May 29).
From 9pm until 4am tomorrow (May 30) there will be heavy rains which could see flooding and disruption.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Heavy, and persistent rain late Wednesday and into the early hours on Thursday will bring 15-25 mm of rain in places.
"The ground is very wet in some areas, so even these amounts may bring the risk of flooding, leading to transport disruption."
The new rain warning will be preceded by a yellow thunderstorm warning which is in place today for parts of the Borders - including Lauder, Earlston, and Stow - from 10am until 9pm.
Throughout the day heavy showers, lightning and possible hail are forecast.
