THE second Peebles Community Festival was held in a dry, fine weather window between days of downpours.

The Peebles Business and Retailers Association (PBRA) event last Saturday saw crowds flood onto the streets and the town was still buzzing late into the evening.

Kerrie Guiney, proprietor of The Perfect Fit, who organised events supported by other retailers and community groups is already planning for next year.

Kerrie said: “Wow, wow! What a fantastic day in Peebles. The weather was in our favour, the town was buzzing with the most amazing atmosphere.

“It was so lovely to see the town alive and we can’t thank you enough for shopping, eating and supporting local.

“A huge thank you to all the businesses in the PBRA for helping me to put on our second Peebles Community Festival.

“Fabulous photographs were taken on the day, capturing some of the amazing characters and business owners on our streets, by our wonderful friend, Lorna Skelly.

“I think everyone will agree it was bigger and better than last year, now to start planning for next year.

“I hope everyone enjoyed our amazing town and I know I feel very lucky to live and work in Peebles.”

A spokesperson from the Oven Door Tearoom said: “What a great atmosphere in the town today.

“Well done Kerrie and all who organised the event it was great to see lots of new faces around.”

Stephanie Morrison, at The Gift Box, said: “Huge thanks to Kerrie for being the driving force behind the festival.

“Plus a big thanks to all the musicians and everyone supporting local businesses.”
