THIS year’s young principals have been selected for St Ronan’s Border Games Week.
On Wednesday, children from around Innerleithen gathered in the Memorial Hall to celebrate this year’s Dux Boy, Dux Girl and their Sash Girls and Monks who will join them at the Cleikum Ceremonies in July.
The Dux Boy for 2024 is Antoni Janus, who will also take on the role of St Ronan’s, and the Dux Girl is Molly Sherwood – both pupils in P7.
Also taking part in the Cleikum Ceremonies and events across Games Week will be:

P2 Sash Girl – Ella Brown
P3 Monks – Codie McCudden and Harris Smolenski
P3 Sash Girls – Maia Allan and Chloe Dawe
P4 Monks – Angus McMillan and Gregor Scott
P4 Sash Girls – Rose Florida-James and Poppy Farquhar
P5 Monks – Warwick Mitchell and Moray Caine
P5 Sash Girls – Emily Banka and Neive Waterston
P6 Monks – Matthew Edwards and Archie McMurdo
P6 Sash Girls – Eadie Gaffney and Alice Fleming
P7 Monks – Finn Campbell and Struan Coltman
P7 Sash Girls – Lexie Smillie and Millie McMath
Dawn Patterson, chair of St Ronan’s Border Games, said: “It’s always a lovely occasion at St Ronan’s for the principal’s announcement.
“There is a real buzz of excitement in the hall. Congratulations to Molly and Antoni and to all the other principals.
“I’m sure they’ll have a memorable week. For those children who weren’t selected please don’t be disappointed.
“Games Week has loads to offer you all!”
Games Week will run from July 13-20, starting with the Standard Bearer’s Ball.
