A 70-YEAR-OLD man has died in a Borders village, according to police.
The man was taken unwell in Newtown St Boswells shortly before 6pm on Friday (June 7).
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say they are not treating his death as suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.50pm on Friday, June 7, 2024 we were called to a report of a man having taken unwell in Newtown St Boswells.
“Emergency services attended, however the 70-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
