A 26-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in private at Selkirk Sheriff Court charged with attempted murder.
It follows an incident at a property in the Bongate area of Jedburgh on Sunday evening when a 61-year-old man was the subject of a serious assault.
He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary to be treated.
Jamie Denholm, who gave an address in Jedburgh, is accused of attempted murder and also of being in possession of a pointed or bladed article in a public place.
He made no plea during Tuesday’s hearing and the case was continued for further examination. He was remanded in custody.
Denholm is due to appear again at Jedburgh Sheriff Court next week.
