A PEEBLES woman has set off on a gruelling rowing challenge in pursuit of another world record.

Taylor Winyard and team-mates Charlotte Irving and Jessica Goddard are attempting to row 2,800 miles across the Pacific Ocean.

The ‘Pacific Trio’ left Monterey Harbor in California on Sunday, with their eyes set on Hanalei Bay on the island of Kaua’i, Hawaii.

Taylor is aiming to be part of the fastest female trio to row across the Pacific Ocean.

The Borderer was part of crew which rowed 3,000 miles across the Atlantic between December 2021 and January 2022.

She helped to set a new world record for the fastest mixed trio to cross that ocean.
