A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged in connection with a reported armed robbery at a Galashiels store, according to police.

The incident is believed to have taken place shortly after 10.30am on Wednesday (June 19) on the town’s High Street, say officers.

There were no reports of any injuries, they added.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers received a report of a robbery with a weapon at a store on High Street, Galashiels, around 10.40am on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

“There were no reports of any injuries and a 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged in connection.

"A report will be sent to the relevant authority.”
