THE commissioning of seven new street pastors has been celebrated in Peebles.
Two of the newest members of the team, which is there to ‘listen, care and help’, are from the town.
Street pastors from the Borders and further afield in Scotland gathered last Saturday in Peebles Evangelical Church to welcome the new additions.
Friends, family and local churches also joined representatives from Police Scotland, Scottish Borders Council and Peebles Community Council attended the event.
Chris Jewell, CEO of Ascension Trust Scotland, which oversees the street pastors’ work, commissioned the new members.
