AFTER weeks of campaigning John Lamont has been returned as the MP for Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk.
The Conservative MP received 18,872 votes, winning with a majority of 6,599 votes over second place candidate David Wilson, of the SNP, who received 12,273 votes.
The remaining candidates were:
- Caitlin Stott, Scottish Labour - 6,311
- Ray Georgeson, Scottish Liberal Democrats - 3,686
- Carolyn Grant, Reform Party - 3,340
- Neil MacKinno, Scottish Greens - 1,526
- Ellie Merton, Independent - 329
- Hamish Goldie-Scot, Scottish Family Party - 221
There was a turnout of 61.1 per cent in Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk.
