A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged in connection with a serious assault in a Borders playground, say police.
A 72-year-old man was left with facial injuries following the attack in Innerleithen last month, according to officers.
The incident is said to have happened at around 7pm on Saturday, June 8, at a playground at the end of Hall Street.
The teenager will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection to the incident.
Detective Constable Joe Carmichael, of CID, said: “I would like to thank the public for their assistance with our investigations.”
