A BORDERS scuba diving club has helped to raise vital funds for a local lifeboat station.
Members of the Borders Sub-Aqua Club, part of the Scottish Sub-Aqua Club, raised £1,000 for St Abbs Lifeboat.
On Tuesday, July 16 Andrew Bunyan, Dave Paterson and Don Lees from the club visited the lifeboat station to hand over their donation.
A spokesperson from St Abbs Lifeboat said: "Our good friends Andrew Bunyan, Dave Paterson and Don Lees from Borders Sub Aqua visited the Station today to give us a very generous donation of £1,000 from the Club.
"The Club have donated regularly over the years as they are fairly fanatical divers, hitting the water most nights around St Abbs and Eyemouth since 1972.
"In their hey day they had around 35 members and although their numbers have dwindled since then, their passion for diving has not."
St Abbs Lifeboat has served the Borders coast since 1911 and has been an independent service since 2016.
The team of highly experienced and dedicated men and women ensure there is a boat and crew available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.
The spokesperson added: "Thank you so much guys for your donation.
"It is very much appreciated and will help us to continue to provide a first class service to all divers and sea faring folk in the waters around St Abbs.
"We also hope you enjoyed the dolphin show which we laid on specially."
