A VICTORIAN school house dating back to the late 19th century could soon become a home sweet home.
An application has been submitted to Scottish Borders Council for the conversion of Lancaster House and Old School into a family home.
It is situated on the main thoroughfare (B6398) north of the local authority's headquarters, just off Newtown St Boswells village.
The site is located on a residential neighbourhood adjacent to the roundabout on the A72
A report in support of the application states: “The conversion of the existing unlisted council property into residential usage will bring the un-occupied building back to its original use.
“There are proposed minor alterations and upgrades to the envelope improving the living accommodation and environmental performance of the building, whilst retaining the original character of the property.”
