PEEBLES hero Scott Brash will be hoping to bag another Olympic medal this summer as the Paris games kick off.
The 38-year-old, who is due to appear at his third games, had a dream debut in London back in 2012, winning gold in the team jumping.
It was Team GB’s first gold medal in that event in 60 years.
The former Peebles High School pupil, who was awarded an MBE in 2013 for services to equestrianism, is one of the Borderers heading out to the French capital.
He is to compete in the individual and team jumping events, riding Hello Jefferson.
Brash finished eighth in the individual event in Tokyo last time out.
He came fifth in that event in London.
Meanwhile, fellow Borderer Sarah Robertson is one of four Scots named in the women’s hockey squad for Paris.
She made her Olympics debut in Tokyo and played a huge part in GB securing a bronze, getting on the scoresheet in their 4-3 medal-winning match with India.
The 30-year-old is vastly experienced, with more than 100 Scotland caps to her name.
Another Borders name to keep an eye on this summer is Lisa Thomson.
The rugby star, 26, is the only Scottish player in the squad.
Thomson was named as reserve for Team GB as they finished fourth at Tokyo 2020.
She will be no stranger to her surroundings at Paris 2024 having spent a season at French top-flight team Lille Metropole.
Borderer Lucy Hope is also heading to the French capital.
The swimmer will take part in the 200m freestyle and the 4x200m freestyle.
At her maiden Olympic Games, the 27-year-old was part of the women’s 4x100m freestyle relay that finished fifth, setting a new British record in the process.
