THREE people were taken to hospital following a collision on a major Borders road this week.
Yesterday (Tuesday, July 30) two vehicles were involved in a collision on the A1 near Cockburnspath at 10.35am.
Emergency services were called to the scene and a section of the road was closed for around two hours.
In addition to police three ambulances attended as well as a special operations team, a trauma team, and an air ambulance.
A spokesperson from the Scottish Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 1044 hours on Tuesday to attend a road traffic collision on the A1.
"We dispatched three ambulances, our special operations team, our trauma team and our air ambulance to the scene.
"We transported three patients to New Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "Around 10.35 am this morning [Tuesday], police received a report of a two-vehicle crash on the A1 near Cockburnspath.
"Emergency services attended and several people were taken to hospital."
