BOTTLE bank glass collections have resumed across the Borders.
Scottish Borders Council (SBC) issued an apology earlier this week after collections stopped due to the breakdown of its glass contractor’s collection vehicle.
As a result of the breakdown there was disruption to scheduled bottle bank collections across the Borders as the local authority sought alternative arrangements for glass recycling.
Bottle banks were full and with no alternative glass bins residents were advised to keep their glass bottles and return at another time to recycle them.
Now the issue has been resolved.
A spokesperson for SBC said: “Glass collections have now resumed across the Scottish Borders and we are now working through the backlog as quickly as possible.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and thank the public for the patience with this matter.”
