AN APPEAL for witnesses has been issued after two attempted break-ins in a Borders town.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said that the first incident took place between 5pm on July 30 and 9am the following day in Melrose.
They said that attempts were made to get into an external building at Abbey House.
The second incident reportedly happened between 11pm on July 31 and 8am the next day.
Attempts were made to gain entry to a house on the town’s Ormiston Terrace, according to the spokesperson.
They said: “Anyone with information relating to these incidents or who has seen anything suspicious around these times should call 101 quoting incident 1171 of August 1, 2024.”
