AN ‘EXCITING’ artisan gift shop has opened at an historic Borders attraction.
Old Gala House, which is now a museum and gallery which tells the story of Galashiels and its people, dates back to 1583.
The shop celebrates the diverse work of local artisans, manufacturers and small businesses, according to Live Borders.
A spokesperson said: “Our aim is to support a wide variety of local artists, crafts people and manufacturers, with a focus on promoting, preserving and reviving the local and dying arts, culture and traditional skills of our crafters.
“The Pringle Room is a beautiful space within Old Gala House with views of the gardens, complete with SiMBA tree of tranquillity, picnic benches, fountain and waterfall. Pick up a unique gift or treat for yourself, and then enjoy the outdoors.”
The shop will be available until September 30. Its opening hours are between 11am and 4pm from Tuesday to Saturday.
