A 56-YEAR-OLD man has appeared from custody at Jedburgh Sheriff Court and admitted driving while three-and-a-half times the legal alcohol limit.
Murray Ballantyne pleaded guilty to driving with a breath/alcohol count of 75 microgrammes - the legal limit being 22 - in Guthrie Drive, Hawick, last Saturday.
Not guilty pleas to driving with no valid licence or insurance were accepted by the Crown.
Ballantyne, of Elm Row, Selkirk, had sentence deferred until September 9 for the production of background reports and was released on bail.
He has received an interim disqualification from driving until then.
