A NEW wind farm bid near Tweeddale was placed on Scottish Borders Council’s planning agenda this week.
Oliver Forest Wind Farm would be located approximately 12.5km south of Broughton and 19km north of Moffat.
The application for the project, known as a Section 36 application, has been submitted to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit.
The proposal submitted consists of seven turbines up to 200m to blade tip height.
To maximise the use of green energy produced on site, the applicant has also included a potential location for a Battery Energy System (BESS) on site.
All representations regarding the proposal should be received by the Energy Consents Unit not later than October 18, 2024, although ministers may consider representations received after this date.
