A 21-YEAR-OLD motorist from Hawick was involved in a road accident while more than three times the legal alcohol limit.
Marco Bucci pleaded guilty to driving with a breath/alcohol count of 69 microgrammes – the legal limit being 22 – in the A7 at Galalaw Business Park in Hawick on July 27.
Prosecutor India McLean told Jedburgh Sheriff Court that police received a 999 call at 3.40am regarding an accident.
When officers arrived, they found Gucci and two others and he confirmed he had been driving at the time of the accident.
He was subjected to a roadside breath test which proved positive and he was cautioned and charged and made no reply.
Gucci was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £350.
