The Peebles Highland Games is set to return to Hay Lodge Park this weekend.
A popular annual event, the games showcase iconic Scottish traditions like the Pipe Band Competition, the Heavy Events, and Highland Dancing on September 7.
Other events include Haggis Hurling and the Peeblesshire Primary Schools Picture Competition which has been extended to include Penicuik and Biggar Primary Schools this year.
Walter Weir, this year's chieftain, has a long history with the Highland Games.
Born in Falkirk, now residing in Stenhousemuir, Mr Weir has a wealth of experience in Highland Games Heavy Events since the late 1960s.
The Highland Dancing event, run by local dance school owner, Fiona Henderson, boasts receiving a record number of 114 entries this year, allowing competitors to perform up to seven dances.

Attendees can also enjoy various stalls around the arena, children's fairground rides, and a craft area.
As anticipation builds, 14 pipe bands have entered the draw for the competition and eight of Scotland's strongest athletes are ready to take on the heavy events.
More than 2,000 tickets have been distributed through eight local primary schools for free child entry when accompanied by a paying adult.
