The final Community Conversations 2024 sessions are set to take place giving more residents the opportunity to have their say.
The council is calling out to residents in Cheviot, Tweeddale, Eildon and Berwickshire to share their views on council resources in their area.
Sessions will include short presentations, roundtables discussions and the opportunity for more informal discussion with council members.
The events will be hosted by Scottish Borders Council, NHS Borders and elected members of local communities.
Community conversations will be held on the following days, all events start at 6.30pm:
Tuesday, September 17 – Cheviot Area Partnership hosting in Jedburgh Grammar Campus
Tuesday, September 24 – Tweeddale Community Conversation in Newlands Centre, Romanno Bridge
Wednesday, September 25 – Eildon Community Conversation in Philiphaugh Community Centre
Tuesday, October 3 - Berwickshire Community Conversation in Coldstream Community Centre
Online and school events are also being planned to ensure that a wide range of views are heard.
Councillor Euan Jardine, council leader, said: “We’re over halfway through our Community Conversation events, we’ve listened and spoken with many people covering a range of topics, and we would like the momentum to continue across the remaining four events.
“We’re keen to speak with communities from Cheviot, Tweeddale, Eildon and Berwickshire, these wards contain large towns and small villages, we’re hoping to speak with a good cross-section of Border’s communities, so we understand what’s happening in those areas, and we can provide them with a greater understanding of the Council’s work and focus on its limited resources.”
