A GALASHIELS road has been closed to allow for a gas leak to be repaired following a crash.
The incident on Melrose Road, which involved one vehicle, took place at around 7.30am on Monday (September 9).
No injuries were reported, but the road was closed for “recovery and repair”.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.30am on Monday, September 9, 2024, police received a report of a one-vehicle crash in the Station Brae area of Galashiels.
“There were no injuries reported.
“The road is currently closed to allow for recovery and repair following a gas leak.”
A Borders Buses spokesperson said: “Due to a police incident, Melrose Road in Galashiels is closed.
“Service 70 will divert from Market Square, along Tweed Road, Winston Road, then it will serve Hawthorn Road first, then along Woodstock Avenue, for [its] route back to Galashiels via Tweed Road.
“Service 51 & 313 will divert along Tweed Road, and will omit Melrose Road.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
