A football club in Selkirk has received a cash boost of more than £1,000 for new equipment.
Selkirk Community Football Club was given a £1,350 grant from the Hayward Sanderson Trust.
This money will be used to buy new goals, balls, and training equipment, and to fund coaching courses for the club's players and coaches.
The club, based in the town’s Yarow Park, provides training and matches for players of all levels, aged five and up.
The club is run by volunteers, who are keen to provide opportunities for children and young people.
Ally Lyall, coach of Selkirk Community Football Club, said: "The support of the Hayward Sanderson Trust is very welcome as it will help our club continue to grow, provide better facilities and equipment for our youth teams and help develop our volunteer coaches.
"It has been a great boost for the kids to start the new season with all this new equipment and the funding will also let us put a couple more coaches through their coaching badges, enhancing further the level of training we can provide our teams.
"Our club is wholly ran by volunteers and support like this is of great encouragement as it recognises the value of what we provide and invests in the potential of our players and volunteers."
Martin Hunt, trustee at Hayward Sanderson, said: "One of the objects of the Hayward Sanderson Trust is to promote the physical wellbeing of children and young persons and the trustees are pleased to have been able to assist Selkirk Community Football Club in furthering that aim."
